LeoInsole Release notes | October 8, 2026

Release date: October 8, 2026

Overview

This release brings more control over the Gyroid lattice: you can now set thickness per zone, edit zone shapes, add solid zones, use a Solid Base option, and check the result in a more accurate preview. The new User Library lets you save and reuse templates, zone shapes, cutouts and logos. Five new scan modes with improved landmark detection and auto-fitting (in beta) give a more accurate fit, and Morton’s Extension now works in full-length insoles.

Key Enhancements

Lattice insole

Conditional Visibility

To improve clarity, individual parameters are now displayed only when the relevant parameter group is enabled.

Zones for Gyroid

Gyroid thickness can now be adjusted separately for each zone.

New Default Zones

Additional default zones have been added to the default library.

Edit Shape

Zone shape can now be edited by moving, adding, and deleting control points.

The tangent strength of control points can now be adjusted, making it easier to fine-tune the contour of each zone.

Move Zone

Hold Ctrl or Cmd while moving any control point to move the entire shape.

Solid Zone

Any selected zone can now be converted into a fully solid area.

Solid Base

When a zone is added, the Solid Base option can be enabled to make the entire insole solid while generating the gyroid lattice only inside the selected zone.

Save and Load Zones

With the new User Library, shapes can be saved and organised into groups. They can then be applied to insoles either individually or as a group.

New Preview

A new preview has been introduced for gyroid lattice generation. It provides a more accurate visual representation, making it easier to fine-tune the final lattice before generation.

User Library

The new User Library provides a central place to save, manage, organize, and reuse templates, shapes, zones, and configuration settings. Its generic architecture allows the library to be extended with additional asset types and settings in the future without changing the underlying library system. Custom assets can be renamed, deleted, and organized into groups, allowing multiple shapes and their layout configuration to be saved and applied as a single preset.

When the editor is integrated into an order management system, library assets are automatically synchronized with the system’s backend storage through the API, keeping the library consistent across sessions and devices.

In standalone mode, the library uses the browser’s local storage, making previously saved assets directly available on the same device without requiring them to be imported each time the application is opened. The entire library can also be exported or imported as a single JSON file for backup or transferring assets between devices. To prevent data loss, it is recommended to export an updated backup after adding or modifying assets, as data stored in the browser’s local storage may be cleared during browser or operating system updates.

Insole Templates

Existing presets are now available in the User Library, and custom presets are also displayed there. Custom presets can be renamed or deleted.

Zone shapes

Custom zone shapes are now available in the User Library. These zones can be used in both the FDM Zones and Lattice Insole tools. Custom zones can also be grouped, allowing multiple shapes to be applied to an insole at once.

Cutout shapes

Custom cutout shapes can now be saved to the User Library.

Embossed logos

Custom embossed logos can now be uploaded to the User Library and selected in the Insole Label tool.

New Landmark Detection and Auto-Fitting Algorithms

Five new scan modes have been added to the Scan Mode dropdown alongside the existing four, supporting different scanning methods and loading conditions. These modes use improved landmark detection and auto-fitting algorithms.

Landmark detection has been significantly refined to provide greater accuracy and reliability.

The landmark-based auto-fitting has also been further optimized through extensive internal validation and user feedback, resulting in insoles that more accurately match the foot and provide improved dimensional fit.

Please note: These algorithms are currently in beta. In some cases, minor deviations may occur, primarily when scan data is incomplete, contains holes, includes background noise, or the foot has significant deformities.

Morton’s Extension in Full-Length Mode

Morton’s Extension is now available when generating full-length insoles. In this mode, the extension is applied as additional thickness to the toe plate, with the tool settings adjusted specifically for this configuration.

Improvements and Fixes

Domes and Wells on Toe Plate

Fixed an issue where placing Domes and Wells shapes on the toe plate caused their height/depth values to be affected by the overall insole thickness.

We hope these enhancements prove valuable to your workflow. For any questions or feedback, please do not hesitate to contact your LeoShape representative, or fill out our contact form and we will get back to you shortly.
